An Answer Needs Context.
Measure meaningful dialogue by issue—not agreement, popularity or an unverified absence of replies.
Response Tracking Is Not Active Yet
No official has a Citizenly response score from this workspace. Drafts, opened contact links and unobserved replies do not count against anyone.
Follow Each Conversation
- Delivery evidence. Keep an independent delivery status for each office; distinguish a successful transport from an office receipt.
- A working reply channel. Record acknowledgments, substantive answers and follow-ups. A reply we cannot observe stays unknown.
- Meaningful engagement. An answer should address the request, explain a position or offer a relevant next step. A respectful disagreement counts; an automatic receipt alone does not.
- Review before a penalty. Apply a published response window, account for outages and duplicates, and offer corrections and appeals before a score changes.
Veterans Issues Deserve Their Own View
Compare an official’s veterans conversations with their housing or environmental conversations, with sample sizes and dates shown. A campaign promise can provide a separate accountability lens when it has a dated source.
Questions outside an office’s authority, harassment, duplicate campaigns and private casework need distinct handling. An unusual or unpopular viewpoint is not itself a reason to exclude a legitimate question. Campaign priorities do not erase responsibility for other valid constituent requests.
Evidence Before Rankings
The planned measures are time to a substantive answer, substantive response rate, follow-up engagement and resolution. We will publish eligibility rules, exclusions, unknown counts and sample-size limits before activating rankings.
